Shows We Miss

Remember Doug, All That, The Wild Thornberry’s and all of those other Classic Nick shows that are rarely or never on TV anymore? It’s fun to think about The Secret World of Alex Mack or the original Rugrats. You know, the one before they were All Grown Up or whatever. Sometimes, thinking about old shows helps us relive a moment of our childhood.

Personally, I think the best thing they could do is have a Classic Nick channel. Maybe we will get there someday. RetroJunk is a website full of 70s, 80s, and 90s cool stuff. You can watch old commercials and read up on things you never knew about all of your favorite old shows.

Believe it or not, many of our favorite TV show episodes were also turned into books. For instance, specific episodes of The Secret World of Alex Mack and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo have books that accompany the episodes. The only one I’ve ever read is Pool Party Panic the Secret World of Alex Mack. Books like that are worth reading if you really want a look back. One last thing, Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Rescue Me – Season 3/Episode 1

I have to say, I was not at all disappointed by the first episode of this season, it had exactly what I love this show for in it. There were some twists and turns that would suprise even the most devoted watcher. The way that everyone is being twisted around is suprising, I didn’t expect that from the previous seasons. I can’t wait until next Tuesday for another epsiode.

I love the music on this show, the opening is by The Von Bondies, and the song at the end was “Devil” by the Stereophonics.

Fall Lineup

The networks have came out with their unofficial fall lineups. Here is the summary (listed only a few shows in each category):

CBS

Returning: CSI, CSI:Miami, Survivor, Numb3rs, The Unit, King of Queens
Out: Love Monkey, Yes Dear, Still Standing

NBC

Returning: Deal or No Deal, Medium, My Name is Earl, The Office, Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan
Out: Joey, Conviction (I loved this show, sad to see that they wouldn’t keep it), Heist

ABC

Returning: Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, AFV

I am quite upset with ABC. I already have a FULL schedule with television on Thursday nights, and then they move yet another show (Grey’s Anatomy is moving to 9:00) to this time slot. I hate competiton, it makes for a long night.

Fox

Returning: 24, The O.C., Prision Break, Family Guy, The War at Home, House

Lost

I have just started to watch the Lost: Season 1 on DVD. I was late to find out about this show, and then didn’t want to start in the middle when I knew the type of show that it would be. I have to say, I am impressed by the almost movie-like quality that it has. I am never 100% sure on what is going to happen. I’m about 13 episodes in now, I’ll make my Season 1 summarization later.

Kudos to Netflix

I have to give a kudo to Netflix for running such a cool company. I’ve been trying to watch Lost because I heard it was a fairly good show, but didn’t want to go out and buy the DVDs. I’ve been putting them on my que for the last few weeks, and they have been sending one by one. I just got the next one in the mail, just to feed my inner lost.

Goodnight all.
