On September 11, 2001 almost 3,000 people lost their lives in the worst terrorist attack on American soil. There were three main attack points on this fateful day the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
My questions is: why do we only see pictures like the ones in this post on the anniversary of September 11th? Why is it that the media only covers what happened that day and the changes since then once a year. I fully understand that there is no point in showing these images every day. But, even the images they show on the anniversary are less and less expressive.
I am inclined to believe, and I would love to know your opinion, that we do not see these images anymore because the media doesn’t want the public to be afraid, to think about the problems that still exist with our government, or to start any anti-Muslim feelings among the public. Regardless of any of this, it is imperative that we do not forget what happened early one Tuesday morning in September. The world changed that day and way too many people lost their lives.
